Tessa Reid is an accomplished New Zealand field hockey defender and a proud Sporting Edge sponsored athlete with rich experience from club to international hockey. A former Junior Black Sticks representative, Tessa progressed through elite development pathways before making her senior debut for the Vantage Black Sticks Women in 2023. She plays domestically for the Alpiners in the Premier Hockey League and has continued to feature in national squads for major test series and international competitions. Known for her skill, tactical awareness, and leadership on the field, Tessa brings valuable high-performance insight to her coaching, inspiring players to reach their potential.
George Baker is an elite New Zealand field hockey player and proud Sporting Edge athlete, having progressed through the Fetch Hockey programme as part of his development pathway. He currently plays club hockey for Marist and represents Canterbury at domestic level, while also competing internationally for the Vantage Black Sticks. George has represented New Zealand at U21 level and has gone on to become a regular member of the senior Black Sticks squad, competing in major international tournaments. Known for his professionalism, work ethic, and high-level game understanding, George brings first-hand international experience to his coaching, inspiring athletes and helping them reach their full potential.
Mezzy Surridge is a dynamic New Zealand field hockey striker and a proud Sporting Edge sponsored athlete. Hailing from Christchurch, she has represented the Alpiners in the Premier Hockey League and earned selection into the Vantage Black Sticks Women’s squad, scoring for New Zealand in key international matches including the FIH Nations Cup. Mezzy’s blend of skill, attacking instinct, and experience at the highest level brings valuable insight to her coaching, inspiring players of all ages to elevate their game.
